Opening film

In the 1930s, in a remote mining settlement in the Australian outback, white, Aboriginal, and
Asian people cross paths, avoid one another, or seek each other out. The arrival of a pair of
outlaws disrupts the community, just as an Aboriginal mother resolve to leave for
Queensland—hoping against hope to see the children she is forced to leave behind... An
Aboriginal Western full of sound and fury, set against the magnificent backdrop of the
Australian bush.

Warwick Thornston

Director, screenwriter, cinematographer, he was born in 1971 in Alice Springs. A graduate of
AFTRS, the Sydney film school, he has directed numerous short films (“Payback”, “Mimi”,
“Greenbush”), documentaries (“We Don’t Need a Map”), TV series (“Firebite”, “The
Beach”, “Mystery Road” and feature films “Samson and Delilah” (Caméra d’or at the
Cannes Film Festival 2009), “Sweet Country”, “The New Boy”).
