In the 1970s and 80s, Ray Argall and other film-makers directed many music videos for the biggest names in Australian rock & roll, from Midnight Oil to Split Enz/Crowded House. The near total freedom they enjoyed while shooting these videos enabled them to experiment with many techniques which they later used in their feature films.
