Engaged and in love Lauren and Ned have just 10 days to reunite her newly separated parents and pull off their dream Top End Wedding. But Lauren’s mother has gone missing, experiencing a midlife crisis. In order to find her, the couple go on a fantastic road trip across northern Australia. Along the way they find fulfilment for their own personal journeys through the wild beauty of the landscapes and the unbeatable charm of the characters that they meet along the way. But will they finally recover Lauren’s mother and pursue their dream wedding?

 

Wayne Blair

Wayne Blair is an acclaimed Aboriginal film, television and theatre director, writer, actor and producer. He directed the hit series Love Child (Series 6) and Bite Club (Series 1) and worked as an actor on Mystery Road (Series 1). He also co-produced and directed the series Cleverman. Wayne’s television directing credits include Redfern Now and Lockie Leonard Series 1 & 2. He directed many plays including The Removalists, Romeo and juliet, Brendan Cowell’s play Ruben Guthrie. He also directed several shorts (The Djarn Djarns, Black talk) and has appeared as an actor in many theatre productions and films. Wayne’s debut hit feature film, The Sapphires, a musical comedy had its world premiere at the Cannes Film Festival in 2012. He directed Septembers of Shiraz (2015) and has most recently directed successful feature film Top End Wedding (2019)
